Golf Instruction Via School Is An Approach That Works For Some
January 15, 2007
Golf school instruction is usually an arrangement that goes for two days, typically a weekend. Some schools vary their curriculum to be half days, whole days, two days and even three day schools.
Golf Schools Aren’t Cheap
Golf schools can range from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand. If you go with a BIG name instructor like Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter or Rick Smith…you’re going to pay in the thousands.
Golf Instructor Guidance
My main beef with this is the quality of instruction…and the lack of one-on-one attention you get. They put their big names behind it, but when you show up, they are no where to be found. You end up in a group with a ratio of 5:1, meaning for every teacher, there are 5 golfers who get his attention.
In my mind, this does not warrant enough guidance to see improvement and get your investment back. I have heard horror stories of golfers coming back more confused and frustrated than before they left…and worse yet!!! They are out a couple of thousand dollars now.
Instruction That Works
Every golfer responds differently to each unique instruction approach. Some are fine in a group setting, others need more private, one-on-one time with their instructor. Keep that in mind when you give a golf school a thought for your next instruction less.
