Golfers are always trying to get instruction tips for golf driving technique to produce longer drives more consistently. The golf driver is a swing that is slightly different than say a wedge or middle iron swing.
You’ll here many instructors say the swing should be the same for every club. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but pure physics of a driver swing is slightly modified. Just take a look at all the pros at address with their driver and then with a middle or short iron. You will definitely see a difference!
With your driver being the longest club in your bag, with the biggest head, and the least amount of loft on the clubface, you need to make a few simple adjustments to maximize this club. These driving tips do not have to be difficult or hard to understand.
In fact, I’ll give you 3 very easy ones right now!
1) Widen your stand for a more stable base, as you will be swinging at a higher swing speed with your driver.
2) Move the ball off the inside heel of front foot to be hitting up on the ball at impact, not down.
3) Slightly tilt your spine away from the ball to also promote a naturally upward blow to the ball.
4) Stay behind the ball at impact! This is critical. If you move ahead of it, you’ll hit a block or slice to the right.
These simple tips will help you maximize your distance with your driver. Simple golf instruction like this is all you need, but if you have more going on with your game, I would strongly recommend you taking a look at a fantastic golf instruction ebook called Break 80.
Don’t let the name fool you. Even if you are a 90’s shooter, you can still get a lot out of this book. Take a look right now!
